Live in front of 400 biathlon fans: ‘Das Biathlon-Doppelzimmer’ recorded a podcast episode in Oberhof
In a full house recorded Erik Lesser and Arnd Peiffer a new episode of their podcast ‘Das Biathlon-Doppelzimmer’ (The Biathlon Double room). Together with surprise guest Simon Eder from Austria, they spoke— for the first time in front of a live audience— about their career experiences together and the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup 2025 in Oberhof.
In the Double room, thick house shoes are being worn. ‘Usually we make it ourselves comfortable and let in bed, but that is hardly possible on the stage. We didn’t want to ruin the carpet with our street shoes’ said Erik Lesser about his cosy outfit.
Of course, normal sippers were of course out of the question for him. He wore slippers with the motive of a pile of shit, his colleague Arnd Peiffer follows with a bulldog. Together recorded the former world class athletes and now biathlon experts a new episode of their very successful podcast ‘Das Biathlon-Doppelzimmer’ in front of a full house in the event hall of the AHORN Panorama Hotel in Oberhof recorded. ‘It was extremely big to sit in front of 400 people. I felt a good spirit’, summarises Erik Lesser. Arnd Peiffer agrees: ‘The audience was very disciplined. It was very nice and relaxed.’
It is no surprise that the guests were hanging on their lips, as the two former world class athletes were looking refreshingly as usual behind the scenes of the biathlon sport. They were supported in that by ÖSV athlete Simon Eder, who came as a surprise stage to the stage. Together, they are looking on their experiences together in the biathlon circus, at highs and lows in the career of the 41-year old routinier and his unusual weapon construction.
The earnings of the podcast recording are being donated. The share of Erik Lesser is given to the Thuringia Skiing Association, Thüringer Skiverband e.V., and supports with that the fostering of young talents. The other half from Arnd Peiffer is being donated to Sternstunden e.V. gespendet, a benefit action with the “Bayerischer Rundfunk”, which supports sick or disabled children and children in distress.
