Live premiere in Oberhof: Erik Lesser and Arnd Peiffer record their podcast in front of fans

For the first time, the podcast “Das Biathlon-Doppelzimmer” by Erik Lesser and Arnd Peiffer will be recorded live in front of an audience. Up to 400 fans can be there when the two former world-class athletes talk shop about the sport of biathlon, share anecdotes and also take a look at the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2025 in Oberhof. All proceeds from the event will be donated.

A few years ago, they were still standing on the start line in the ARENA am Rennsteig, now Erik Lesser and Arnd Peiffer are making themselves comfortable in front of the microphones. Their podcast “Das Biathlon-Doppelzimmer”, which they started in September 2019, during their active career, will have a new episode in the next few days. It will be broadcast - for the first time live in front of an audience - on Thursday, January 09, 2025 from 7.30 pm (admission from 6.45 pm) in the event hall of the AHORN Panorama Hotel Oberhof. It can be heard in the following week.

After the originally planned 150 tickets for the event were sold out after less than 24 hours, the location was quickly enlarged - with the support of the AHORN Panorama Hotel Oberhof. Now up to 400 biathlon fans can attend the 81st edition of the popular format and listen to the former world-class athletes and today's ARD experts. “I listen to a lot of podcasts, some of which are recorded live. They are good to listen to. I thought to myself: if they can do it, then we can do it too,” says Erik Lesser about the premiere in Oberhof.

Fans can look forward to an entertaining one-and-a-half-hour talk about the sport of biathlon and the World Cup competitions on Erik Lesser's doorstep, as well as a surprise guest who is still a secret. “Anyone who listens to us regularly knows that we tend to unprepared and let ourselves be surprised. I think that people will be well entertained,” says the 2015 double world champion. He and Arnd Peiffer will be available for autographs and photos afterwards.

Like the podcast's previous advertising revenue, the income from the live recording will also be donated. “My 50 percent will go to the Thüringer Skiverband e.V. and thus to the promotion of young talent,” explains Erik Lesser. The remaining 50 percent will be donated by Arnd Peiffer to Sternstunden e.V., a charity campaign with Bayerischer Rundfunk that helps sick, disabled and children in need.

Tickets for the live podcast are available for 15 euros per person and can be purchased via this link: https://www.eventim-light.com/de/a/675b7115ccdfc84ed52a7f74.
